How to talk to a girl about a future relationship?

Lets say I like a girl and this girl and i have talked a lot and hung out a few times. How would i bring up the possibility of a future relationship with her? It seems like when I or any one does this, the girl runs away or gets awkward about it and nothing happens. How should i do this so she doesnt get awkward about it?How to talk to a girl about a future relationship?
to me it seems like she's feeling a little insecure or maybe she looks at you as a friend or maybe someone to hang out with. if you do have feelings and she's not sending the signals back, you have to back off. she also might of have a bad relationship in her life and she has trust issues.

well show her your affection by hugging her and calling her cute and stuff. then get a little romantic by giving her presents like flowers or stuffed animals. court her. then if you feel you are ready kiss her, then ask her if you want to go steady!
tell her you like and that you dont want to freak her out, that you are just being honest, if it was at all possible that you would like to start a relationship with her. if she says no then just be friends dont push anything.
take 1 step at a time, it will happen eventually.

If you tell her upfront,which some girls like,it might hurt you if she doesn't feel the same way.She might not know how to react to it and sa something rude.Then again it could bring a huge smile to her face.

I think the direct approach is the best way to go just ask her face to face is she interested in a relationship with you if she says yes that's great yall can start dating if she says no tell her no hard feelings you would like to remain friends and if she gives you the I don't kno line tell her to sleep on it and get back to you if she doesn't get back to you then that's a no and just let it go good luck
How about instead of talking about a ';future relationship'; you just ask her out, like, on a date? You can get the chance to know each other, and find out if she's even interested. The worst that will happen is she will say no, and then you will have your answer, right? Good Luck!
